Abstract: Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) represent a transformative technology for next-generation wireless networks (e.g., 6G), addressing persistent challenges such as power consumption, spectrum scarcity, interference, and security vulnerabilities. RIS dynamically manipulates electromagnetic wave propagation through programmable phase, amplitude, and polarization adjustments, enabling control over wireless environments without active signal amplification.
