Abstract:
Geothermal energy has been used for centuries throughout the world. Although geothermal energy is much more environmentally friendly than other types of energy production, there are still aspects of geothermal energy development that can have negative social, economic, and environmental impacts. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of the Menengai Geothermal Development Project on the adjacent community. Specifically, the study sought to examine the effect of landscape alteration, environmental pollution, population change, and social responsibility activities associated with the project on the livelihood of adjacent communities.
