Abstract: Rainfall can create hazardous road conditions through reduced visibility, wet and slippery road surfaces, surface-water accumulation, flooding, concealed potholes and impaired road-user mobility. In urban areas where drainage and road infrastructure are inadequate, these conditions may increase perceived risks of vehicular crashes.
