Abstract: Luke 19:1–10, commonly known as the Zacchaeus narrative, occupies a significant position in the Gospel of Luke because it brings together several major Lukan themes: salvation, grace, repentance, wealth, social exclusion, discipleship, restoration, and the mission of Jesus as the Son of Man. Situated within Jesus’ journey from Jericho toward Jerusalem, the passage is more than an account of the conversion of an individual tax collector.
