Abstract:
The Chlorophyceae is a large and diverse group of freshwater algae. They include members which are ecologically as well as scientifically important. They are also known to tolerate a wide range of environmental changes. The group usually occurs with a wide variety of other groups of algae in their natural habitat. A total of 18 genera have been observed during the study. The members of the group were found to be more in number in the post monsoon period as compared to the pre monsoon period.
