Abstract:
Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease of global burden almost 1/3rd of population are affected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. approximately 9 million each year are newly affected and 2 million die from the disease. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is emerging as an epidemic which increases the risk of development of TB by 3 times. DM will increase the infective forms (sputum positive) of TB there by increasing the no. of patients infected by a source case.
