Abstract:
The Cybercrime Prevention Act is the first law which specifically criminalizes computer crime. The law governs crimes committed online like illegal access and interception, data and system interference, misuse of device, cyber-squatting, cyber libel, identity theft, computer-related fraud and forgery, and cybersex. The awareness of students to cybercrime need to be studied to assess their level of awareness relative to cybercrime offenses because they are the most active users online so that measures can be recommended. This paper assessed the level of awareness of the 86 students enrolled in the BSCS and BSIT programs on cybercrime offenses using short description to allow high degree of understanding.
