Abstract:
Kanpur, one of the largest industrial cities in Northern India, faces significant challenges in managing the increasing volume of municipal solid waste due to rapid urbanization, population growth, and industrial activities. Current waste management practices in the city are often fragmented, inefficient, and environmentally unsustainable, leading to adverse impacts on public health and the urban ecosystem. This thesis proposes an integrated approach to sustainable waste management in Kanpur, emphasizing the need for a holistic framework that combines environmental, social, economic, and technological perspectives.
