Abstract: The influence of background music on share rates in short video platforms represents a critical nexus of media psychology, algorithmic distribution, and digital marketing strategy. This systematic review synthesizes empirical research from 32 studies to analyze how background music functions as a strategic tool for enhancing content virality on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
