Abstract:
The county assemblies in Kenya have been experiencing some challenges in the course of executing their mandate. The problem was shown as delays in formulation of legislature, representation of the needs of the general public and ineffectiveness in overseeing the county executive members. For the case of Nyandarua county assembly, the absence of county clerk, frequent impeachment of county assembly speaker and infighting amongst leaders; has had a negative impact on performance outcomes.
