Background of the study. Diarrhoea is one of the leading causes of death among children under five globally. In a study carried out to determine the prevalence rates of some parasites implicated in diarrhoea among children aged 0-5 years and their nutritional status in Kaduna State, Nigeria, stool samples were collected from 368 children in selected hospitals representing the three senatorial districts of the State. The result obtained showed prevalence of 19.8% and 22.8%, for Cryptosporidium parvum, using both microscopy and Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay. The result of this study showed that the percentage of the study population which were underweight, stunting and wasting which were 17.4%, 27.4% and 11.4% respectively.
