This article explores government’s educational policies focusing on quality improvement of children studying in school. Number of commissions has been undertaken by the government to look in to the structural problem of education in the country. Some of the crucial ones are education commission- 1964 which is also commonly called as Kothari commission, the National education policy 1968 and 1986 will be discussed in details in the below chapter.
