Abstract: Sierra Leone has long being struggling to achieve zero energy poverty, but the main obstacle in this struggle is the technical and technological availability. However, the energy situation currently is far better than in the early 2000s. The economy of the country was estimated to have grown by approximately 7 percent in 2011 from 5 percent in 2010. Domestic revenue was believed to increase during the past years, mainly as a result of tax collection efforts and one-off payments of signature bonuses from the energy products (petroleum) exploration activities in the country. Our focus on this paper is to evaluate the range of accessibility of electricity in the country.
