Service Quality of Outpatient Department in a District General Hospital – Sri Lanka: The patients’ perspective

Abstract: Access to timely, acceptable, and affordable health care of appropriate quality is a fundamental human right. Importance of service quality in healthcare has increased in the recent past due to its benefits to the patients and the healthcare provider. Assessment of the patients’ perspective regarding the health care quality especially infrequently utilized services such as Out-patient department (OPD) was a timely need to identify the service quality gaps and to take action to improve the level of quality.
