The aim of the study was to determine the influence of human resource development practices on performance of academic staff in Technical Training Institutions in Kenya focusing on Thika Technical Training Institute (TTTI). The objective of the study was to determine the influence of training, career development and employee empowerment on performance of academic staff in Thika Technical Training Institute. This study adopted case study research design. The study targeted 250 academic staff across five departments of TTTI, from which a sample of 100 respondents were drawn for the study. The sample was selected through stratified sampling technique.
