Abstract: Antenatal care is a preventive health care system that is mentioned in Ayurveda as Garbhini Paricharya. Acharyas have advised Garbhini Paricharya in classical texts of Ayurveda for pregnant women more than thousands of years ago. This study was aimed to analyze the Masanumasika Garbhini Paricharya, to understand its clinical importance and to promote the health of mother with fetus. Literature review was carried out in Brihatrayee (Charak Samhita, Susruta Samhita and Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita) and important Ayurveda classics for Prasuti Tantra (Kashyapa Samhita, Harita Samhita and Ayurveda Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga). Searched keywords were Garbhini Paricharya, Masanumasika Pathya, Garbhopaghatakara Bhavas and Garbhasthapaka Dravyas.
