Abstract:
The pioneer of the ancient surgery, “Acharya Sushruta” defined Vatashtheela as “a condition in which the Apana Vayu due to vitiation produces mobile, elevated & glandular swelling in between the rectum and urinary bladder (or urethra) which obstructs the passage of urine and faces and produces the symptoms like Sanga (obstruction) etc”. whereas, Mutrakrichchhra is said to be Vata Pradhana Tridoshaja Vyadhi and difficulty in micturition is its characteristic feature.
