A field experiment was conducted during the 2015, 2016 and 2017 growing seasons at the National Root Crop Research Institute experimental farm Vom Plateau State, Nigeria to study the response of Field pea (Pisum sativum L.) yield and its components to application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers. The treatment consisted of three nitrogen rates viz; 0, 20 and 40 kg N ha-1 and three phosphorus rates viz; 0, 30 and 60 kg P ha-1 which were factorially laid in a randomized complete block design and replicated three times. The characters studied were; number of pods, pod length (cm), pod weight (g), pod yield (kg ha-1), number of seeds, 100 seed weight (g), seed yield (kg ha-1) and harvest index (%).
