Abstract: Nonongan commercial corridor in Surakarta (Indonesia) has an important role for the city related to its history, position and possesses architectural privileges. The architectural feature of the corridor is the presence of some old buildings that are urban artifacts and potentially become the focal point in the corridor. However, in its development, this corridor is poorly structured so that the image of corridors is less strongly reflected in the lack of visual interrelationships between old buildings and new buildings, the lack of visual quality of old buildings with potential focal points, lack of decoration on the surface of pedestrian ways, and less variation in vegetation.
