Abstract: Freshwater fish populations are of major ecological and economic importance. Fish play a major economical role in structuring the benthic and zooplanktonic invertebrate communities.Primary productivity is the most important biological phenomenon in nature, which involves the trapping of radiant energy of the sun and its transformation into high potential biochemical energy by the process of photosynthesis. The productivity of freshwater fish species of Bichhiya River and Govindgarh Lake in Rewa district was studied from October 2009 to September 2010.
