Abstract:
The aim of this study is to analyse the effect of financial access on performance of SMEs in Myanmar. According to the survey results, entrepreneurial characteristics and SMEs support environment have a positive and significantly influence on financial access. It means SMEs owners should have entrepreneurial mind-set and appropriate support environment for their businesses to get better experiences in financial access. Furthermore, financial access has a positive relationship with firm’s performance. It can be concluded that performance of SMEs will be effective and efficient if SMEs owners can get easily access to finance. Therefore, SMEs owners should have better entrepreneurial mind-set in the decision making process. Moreover, government should always monitor the financial access level of SMEs and should set the rules and regulations to improve SMEs in Myanmar.
