Abstract:
This study was done to determine how to improve moisture susceptibility of Open Graded Asphalt Concrete mix through the use of sisal fibre and waste plastics. The indirect tensile strength is an indicator of tensile properties of the Open Graded Asphalt (OGA) mixture. This test is generally associated with cracking behavour of the road pavement. The higher the results, the stronger the pavement to resist crack development. Further, the tensile strength ratio of asphalt concrete shows its ability to resist moisture susceptibility. The test is also a measure of water sensitivity of the asphalt mix.
