Abstract:
Inadequate transportation systems create social exclusion problems that encourage ownership of motorcycles for people in the suburbs and inaccessible mass transportation modes. Motorcycles are one of the modes that become the mainstay of low-income family to meet the needs of the movement because it has a relatively affordable price with the ease of the credit system. As a result, there was an inflation of motorcycles among the people in Makassar City, Indonesia, mainly low income people in Banta-Bantaeng and Untia areas. This has become one of the causes of congestion because the number of vehicles is not proportional to the available road capacity.
