Abstract:
Most of the African children with disabilities live in sub Saharan, Africa. Many of these countries including: Ethiopia, have ratified international conventions on the rights of children with disabilities and are making a transition towards inclusive education. However, the vast majority of Africans with disabilities are excluded from schools and opportunities to work. This study examines the challenges in making this transition in one East African country, Ethiopia. A multi-method qualitative research approach was adopted. Document analysis identified the Ethiopian governments’ vision for inclusive education.
