This study aims to determine the socio-economic characteristics of public transport users in the city of Makassar, Indonesia. The method used was a survey method by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The samples used were BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) passengers from 2, 3 and 4 corridors, as well as passengers of pete-pete (a public transportation to travel around the city of Makassar) of the A, D and C routes in Makassar City. Data obtained from the survey were processed. The factors reviewed include; gender, age, level of education, occupation, strata and family dependents, vehicle ownership, origin location and destination of trips, frequency using public transportation, mode used, travel distance and travel time, travel cost and the income of public transport users. Regarding to these factors, socio-economic characteristics of public transport users were found.
